IGP visits house of martyred ASI

LAHORE:The Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, Thursday visited the residence of ASI M Nawaz of PHP who embraced martyrdom by firing of dacoits in Sheikhupura area.
At Kot Abdul Malik, the IGP met with the mother, children, and other family members of ASI M Nawaz and offered prayers for the elevation of the martyr's ranks and offered Fatiha for him. He said the family of the martyred ASI would be provided with a house, and the police department would bear educational expenses of his children.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the ASI in Qila Sattar Shah tried to stop some suspicious individuals who were on a motorcycle, but they opened fire at him, leaving him martyred on the spot. One of the attackers was also killed.
