Ego-driven man shoots dead wife, sister-in-law

Two more women fell prey to a family patriarch’s ego who deemed it fit to open fire at the women for not ‘abiding’ by his orders, on Wednesday, within the ambit of the Sachal police station.

Liaquat Jatoi shot dead his 22-year-old wife, Sumaira, and his brother’s – Nadeem Jatoi - wife, Sumaima, inside his parent’s house situated in Shahnawaz Shar Goth.

According to SHO Sachal, Qamar Jiskani, Sumaira had allegedly come to Karachi to her in-law’s house from Sangarh where she lived with her husband after the two fought over some personal matter.

Liaquat, however, came to Karachi to take her back with him, but could not handle his wife’s refusal to his request and opened fire at his wife, also injuring his sister-in-law.

The police said they found the women in a critical condition and shifted them to a hospital but the doctors could unfortunately not save them. 

The accused, however, escaped after committing the murders. A case was reported and investigations are underway.
