Security arrangements for Muharram reviewed
MANSEHRA: The police and other law-enforcement agencies would remain on high alert during Muharram to thwart any untoward incident as over 2278 personnel and officers would be deployed in the district.
“The police and other law enforcement agencies would remain on high alert as we are going to deploy 2278 officers and personnel during Muharram,” District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur told a security meeting held here on Sunday.
The meeting, which was attended by the superintendents of police, deputy superintendent of police and SHOs of Mansehra, Balakot, Oghi, Darband and Baffa-Pakhal tehsils reviewed the security arrangements.“The routes leading to the mourning procession would be completely sealed and mourners would only be allowed ahead following complete body search,” Gandapur said.
