Sadly, what has happened recently on Pakistan’s TV channels in the wake of the T20 world cup and Pakistan losing matches against the US and India is the last thing we needed under the prevailing political polarization. A few former crickets who are being invited by TV channels to analyse the cricketing situation are passing very irresponsible comments about ethnicities, biases, prejudices, favouritism and preferentialism.
Unfortunately, their choice of words is completely devoid of any civility and affability. All TV channels should screen and test participants before giving them screen time. This type of loose talk and rowdy behaviour does not bode and Pakistanis as a whole lose respect when a few celebrities speak in such a way.
