ISLAMABAD: Justice Saqib Nisar of the Supreme Court (SC) observed on Monday that the court could not order the government to initiate a war to stop the drone attacks in the tribal areas of Pakistan.
The Supreme Court (SC) dismissed a petition seeking an end to drone attacks being carried out in the tribal areas of Pakistan.The three-member bench, headed by Justice Saqib Nisar, heard the case and observed that the plea did fall under the Article 184 of the Constitution.
The petitioner, Iqbal Haider, in his petition said the tribal areas are part of the Pakistani territory and it was the responsibility of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Army to protect the tribal areas from the drone strikes.The apex court dismissed the petition, terming it unconstitutional under the Article-III of 184.
