Pak-China friendship crucial for economic uplift, says Swati

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati said on Friday that Pak-China friendship was crucial for the economic development and prosperity of both nations.

He expressed these views during his visit to China Window, a Chinese Cultural Center in Peshawar, where he also addressed the Dragon Boat Festival ceremony, said a press release.Engineer Said Mehmood, Vice-Chairman of the KP Board of Investment and Peshawar Press Club President Arshad Aziz Malik were present on the occasion.

Swati stressed the need for learning in various fields from our brotherly neighbour, China.Welcoming the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Swati commended China’s investment in CPEC projects.

He hoped these projects, including hydropower and the Rashakai Economic Zone, would create millions of jobs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.In his address at the Dragon Boat Festival, he attributed the strength of Sin-Pak friendship to the mutual protection of each other’s interests and unwavering support during difficult times.

Swati said it was imperative for Pakistan to learn from China’s development and leverage its experiences for Pakistan’s economic growth and the well-being of its people.The speaker praised the China Window administration for organizing free Chinese language courses and lauded the initiative to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, marking it as a gesture of solidarity with our Chinese brothers and sisters.

Earlier, he toured the cultural center, explored various galleries, signed the friendship wall, and left his comments in the visitors’ book.Engineer Syed Mehmood and Arshad Aziz Malik acknowledged the Chinese people’s enthusiasm for their festivals, including the Dragon Boat Festival.
