PAF-IAST expo attracts employers, jobseekers
HARIPUR: Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) here on Wednesday organised a “Career Fest/Product Expo” that brought together employers, entrepreneurs and jobseekers.
The first batch of 132 students ready to graduate from the university current year showcased their final year projects they had designed and completed after mandatory 500 hours of practical industry training as part of their degree programmes.
The event featured a total of 65 projects in the areas of energy, batteries and EVs, smart digital systems, healthcare solutions, green manufacturing, and intelligent software systems.
The students displayed their projects at the stalls and demonstrated their live practical skills during the expo and earned kudos from the visitors, mostly from local and multinational industries and IT companies.
Some of the prominent projects showcased on the occasion were about energy management, power electronics, building management, electric vehicles, home automation/energy, rechargeable battery/industry, cyber security, PLC based data logger, utility applications, e-commerce/skills marketplace, molecular theranostics, biotechnology products, natural compounds and AI in healthcare, food industry, fertilisers, minerals, cosmetic industry, cement industry and glass industry.
AI in agriculture, AI in Education, software development, smart manufacturing and tourism Apps were also among the projects put on display on the occasion.A panel discussion about engaging dialogues on industry trends and academic-industry partnership, interview sessions with prospective graduates and enabling contacts between students and prospective employers were also part of the expo.A statement said that all degree programmes of the PAF-IAST were accredited by reputable bodies such as the HEC, PEC, and NCEAC.
