ISLAMABAD: The government has notified an eight-member special committee to hold consultation on amendments to the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Acts (Peca) 2016.
The committee headed by Adviser to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan would comprise Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting
Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Federal Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister of State for Information Technology Shiza Fatima, Nawabzada Khalid Magsi, Sherry Rehman and Attorney General of Pakistan.
The Cabinet at its meeting on May 14 had directed for constitution of a special committee to hold consultations over amendments in Peca 2016. The Cabinet decided that committee would comprise representatives from the coalition parties and headed by Adviser to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah. The special committee would review Peca 2016 and would create consensus on amendments in the Act. It would hold consultations with all stakeholders.
