Women and children protest load-shedding

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Women and children blocked the road at Prova Khatm-e-Nabuwat Chowk and in front of the Pesco office in the Paharpur area to protest against severe load-shedding.

Women from the Prova locality, along with their children, took to the streets to protest against almost 22-hour power outages. Their primary demand was the immediate cessation of the massive load-shedding in Prova and its surrounding areas, warning that their protest would continue until their demands were met. Police arrived at the scene to negotiate and clear the road as the demonstration caused traffic jams. Simultaneously, women in Paharpur also protested in front of the Pesco office, while holding placards with slogans against Pesco authorities. The protesters blamed the negligence of elected representatives for the hardships inflicted on the public.They demanded an immediate reduction in load-shedding hours and halt to the frequent power tripping.
