Dismissed cop remanded in kidnapping case
A judicial magistrate on Tuesday granted one-day police remand of a dismissed cop in a kidnapping case.
Danish, said to be involved in heinous crimes, including the double murder of two friends in the Korangi Industrial Area last week, has been booked for allegedly kidnapping a citizen from his house in February 2024.
The investigating officer produced the suspect before the judicial magistrate (East) requesting his 14-day physical remand for interrogation. However, the magistrate handed over his custody to the police for one day with a direction to produce him on the completion of the remand.
According to the police, the suspect had allegedly kidnapped Mukhtiar Ahmed from his residence in the Korangi Industrial Area on February 16. An FIR was lodged under Section 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the kidnapped person’s wife Shaheen.
Danish, who had been dismissed from police service, along with his accomplices, Sultan, Nadir and Noman, had allegedly killed Muhammad Ali Khoso and Muhammad Imtiaz Khattak in the Korangi Industrial Area police remits on May 6. They were both friends and are mechanics by profession.
