SWABI: Director-General of the Directorate of Science and Technology Sajid Shah has said that the directorate would provide financial support to innovative student projects.
Addressing the 12th cohort pitching session organised by Catalyst GIK Incubator at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Sajid Shah said the directorate prioritised support for GIK Institute due to its significant contributions to science and technology, Over a dozen students from various regions of the country presented their innovative projects and defended them before judges during the ceremony.
DG Sajid Shah commended GIK Institute’s contributions and previous projects, including Institute incubation financed by DoST. He highlighted efforts to enhance technological knowledge in the province by engaging with universities and offering financial support for innovative projects.
Sardar Aminullah Khan, Pro-Rector Admin and Finance, highlighted the role of GIK incubation in realising the ideas of young engineers and translating them into practical solutions.
He noted that the Institute’s incubation provides significant opportunities for students, with earlier batches completing various research and innovative projects and establishing their own businesses nationwide.He also acknowledged the support of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in financing the residential incubation centre project at the GIK Campus.
