Islamabad: A delegation led by Dr. Rami Waheed Al-Dhulli, the Deputy Minister of Education and Educational Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic, visited Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) here. Accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Syria, the delegates discussed potential avenues for cooperation in higher education, says a press release.
Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, S.I., Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Registrar, QAU, warmly welcomed the delegation. Dr. Salma Malik, Director, External Linkages, QAU, provided the delegation with a comprehensive briefing on the university’s academic programs, student body, faculty, and research facilities. Chairpersons and Directors of the different Departments and Schools attended the briefing.
During his address to the delegation, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, S.I., Vice Chancellor, QAU, expressed full support for academic collaboration with universities in Syria. He highlighted Pakistan’s strong bilateral and diplomatic relationship with Syria, emphasising that as a fellow Islamic country, Quaid-i-Azam University is eager to establish and strengthen academic cooperation in Natural, Biological, and Social sciences.
Dr. Rami Waheed Al-Dhulli, the Deputy Minister of Education, identified several areas of collaboration and offered online learning opportunities in the Arabic language for the students and faculty of the University.
