Peace restoration efforts discussed

KOHAT: The members of the Kurram Peace Committee held a meeting with General Officer Commanding Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti and discussed the measures to ensure the restoration of viable peace and law and order in the Kohat and Kurram regions.

The members of the Kurram Peace Committee assured General Officer Commanding Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti of all-out cooperation for the restoration of peace in the region. The members of the committee said that they would also cooperate with the respective district administration in maintaining law and order in the area.

The general officer commanding also lauded the efforts of the peace committee for the restoration of peace. The meeting agreed that all the problems with regard to the restoration of peace would be solved through talks by adhering to the Murree Accord and all the previous agreements reached for the purpose. The meeting also agreed that necessary amendments would be made to the agreements reached in the past. The members of the KPC would come up with a comprehensive strategy by May 21 with mutual consultation for this purpose.
