Naqvi briefed on performance of Pakistan Coast Guards

Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday visited the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) Headquarters where he was received by PCG Director General Brigadier Ghulam Abbas.

Officials said the interior minister laid a wreath at the martyrs monument and paid tribute to the martyrs for their sacrifice for the defence of the motherland. Naqvi was briefed on the professional affairs of the PCG, including its efforts against all kinds of smuggling, especially its anti-narcotics activities.

The interior minister was informed about the professional training of the coast guards and measures taken to prevent smuggling.

He was also told about the seized drugs, alcohol and other items, as well as the process of burning the seized drugs.

Appreciating the professional performance of the PCG, Naqvi praised the determination and courage of the officers and officials of the PCG.

He said the coast guards were performing duties simultaneously on the land and in the sea and they played an important role not only in the times of peace but also

in any difficult and war situation.
