PESHAWAR: Expressing concern over lawlessness in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) provincial chief Prof Mohammad Ibrahim Khan on Wednesday said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was deprived of representation in the Senate due to antagonism between the stakeholders.
aAddressing the inaugural session of the two-day meeting of the provincial shura of Jamaat-e-Islami started here, he said that the federal and provincial governments were also at the loggerhead resulting in the deprivation of the people of the province.
“This attitude is not appropriate for both the PMLN-led federal and PTI-led provincial governments. The people have elected their rulers for resolution of the problems and now it is the responsibility of the governments to understand and resolve the problems faced by the people,” he added.
JI provincial deputy chiefs including Maulana Mohammad Islmail, Norul Haq, Inayatullah Khan, Maulana Tasnim Iqbal, Sabir Hussain Awan, general secretary Abdul Wasi and shura members attended the meeting which would continue today.
Prof Ibrahim said that the province was experiencing the worst lawlessness, joblessness and price-hike. Killing, robberies and other crimes were on the rapid increase in the province, he said.
Prof Ibrahim Khan said that the no-confidence movement infused new life in PTI and its founder. He said that there was no difference between the PTI and PDM. “Both of them ravaged the country’s economy by taking loans from the IMF and World Bank. He said that the country has literally been enslaved by the IMF,” he added.
