New spell of rains in Punjab from 23rd: PDMA

LAHORE:According to a PDMA spokesperson, a new series of rains will enter Punjab from April 23. There is a possibility of light rain in the areas of Upper Punjab on April 23. From April 26 to 29, there is a possibility of thundershowers and hail in Upper Punjab.

Rain alert has already been issued across Punjab from April 18 to 21. Farmers should harvest the wheat crop keeping in view the weather conditions. DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that according to the instructions of the CM, the administration is on round-the-clock alert. The district administration across the province has also been informed about the new weather situation. PDMA is monitoring the weather situation moment by moment. The next ten days are very important for rescue agencies, district administration.

All possible efforts will be made to minimise damage due to natural storms and rains. DG Irfan Ali Kathia issued instructions to the administration to improve drainage in low-lying areas. DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that it is important to create awareness among the public about climate change. Citizens are advised to stay away from power poles during storms.
