Secure the roads

Terrorists, after blocking a certain point of the Quetta-Nushki-Taftan N-40 National Highway, began stopping and checking vehicles and opened fire on one that did not stop, killing an estimated 11 innocent people. Another nine people, passengers on a bus going from Quetta to Taftan, were also abducted by the terrorists. Where were the highway law-enforcement authorities during all this?
Nor is this the first time that terrorists have been able to strike motorists on the highways with seeming impunity. There is an urgent need for greater surveillance capabilities on our major motorways, particularly those passing through sensitive areas in terms of security.
