Haider, Ayaz hit unbeaten centuries on day 15
LAHORE: the day 15 of the Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup saw Punjab College beat Gulberg College by 93 runs and GCU beat Government College Township by 144 runs at Lahore’s LCCA Ground in the two games that took place.
Punjab College defeated Gulberg College by 93 runs on the back of an unbeaten century by Haider Shahjahan, who scored 113 from 63 deliveries with 19 boundaries and two sixes.
Sami Hassan also contributed with an unbeaten 47 off 29 with the help of six boundaries and one maximum. Subsequently, Punjab College succeeded in bundling over Gulberg College for just 116 in 19.3 overs with bowlers Mohammad Aswad and Ahmed Arif both registering three-wicket hauls while Mohammad Junaid and Ahmed Saeed returned with two wickets each. Nouman top-scored with 31 off 35, including four boundaries.
Government College University (GCU) Lahore won against Government College Township by 144 runs. Batting first, openers Mohammad Ayaz (135 not out, 72b, 18x4s, 4x6s) and Soban Mustafa (88 not out, 55b, 13x4s, 1x6) put up a mammoth total of 257, without any loss of wicket.
In turn, Government College Township were dismissed for 113, with Mohammad Ahsan bagging a four-wicket haul. Ali Hamza, who made 31 from 38, was the top-scorer in the unsuccessful chase.
