ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved holidays for Eidul Fitr from April 10 (Wednesday) to April 13 (Saturday).
The Cabinet Division, however, is yet to issue a notification with regard to four Eid holidays. Official sources said that the Cabinet Division is yet to receive any intimation from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted sighting of moon of Shawal on April 9 and as such Eidul Fitr would be celebrated on April 10.
The government employees, however, have demanded that Eid holidays should start on April 9, a day before Eid day as those serving in major cities like the federal capital and Lahore would require one day to reach their hometowns.
It is expected that the federal government employees would start leaving Islamabad on Friday evening or Saturday.
