PESHAWAR: A group of Qaris from the Islamic Republic of Iran enthralled the audience with recitation from the Holy Quran at five different mosques in the provincial metropolis.
A communication said five Qaris— Majeed Sawari, Ali Sawari, Muhammad Talee Sari, Riaz Talee Sari and Mehdi Salahi - recited the Holy Quran with Qirat during a visit to Peshawar during Ramazan.
The Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Peshawar facilitated the Qirat programmes arranged at the mosques in various parts of the city. Director-General of the Khana-e-Farhang, Dr Hossein Chaghomi, himself is a Qari, attended all the functions.
A scholar of the Persian language and author, Professor Syed Ghayur Hussain, was present there as well. The first Qirat programme was hosted at the Jamia Masjid Madani in Namak Mandi, second in Aasiya locality, third in Gulshan Rehman Colony, fourth in Hayatabad and the fifth at a mosque inQissa Khwani.
The Iranian cultural centre chief introduced the Qaris to the audience.He said Qirat strengthened faith in Allah, instilled tranquility in the hearts and souls, and brought peace amid life’s trials.The diplomat said each letter of the Holy Quran that was recited earned immense rewards and protected the reciter against evil forces.
