CM lauds charities working for welfare of marginalised children
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said concerned non-governmental organisations striving for the rehabilitation and welfare of orphaned and differently-abled children in Pakistan have been doing a greater social service in society.
He stated this on Friday in his address on the occasion of an Iftar-dinner reception held by the Turkish Consulate General. Local orphaned and special children also attended the reception held in partnership with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori also attended the event.
The CM expressed gratitude to Turkish Consul General Cemal Sangu for inviting him to the Iftar-dinner with special and orphaned children. He said he had always enjoyed the company of differently-abled children.
The CM said he had the opportunity to meet the differently abled children after a gap of many days. “We all are under an obligation to take part in the education and upbringing of these children,” he said. Later, Shah showed affection for the orphaned and special children and mingled with them.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said he was very pleased to spend time with special and orphaned children. He expressed gratitude to TIKA for hosting an event for the marginalised children in the country.
Tessori said that taking part in humanitarian services was a very pious deed and fully in accordance with the teachings of Islam as the lives of those engaged in the noble cause were blessed both in this world and life hereafter.
He invited all the children present at the Turkish Consulate General to attend the Iftar reception being held at the Governor House. He said working for the rehabilitation and welfare of underprivileged children was a great cause and he hoped these kids in future would strive hard to transform the destiny of Pakistan.
The governor said Pakistan-Turkiye friendly relations were based on mutual trust, shared moral values, and common religion. He said the people of Pakistan had always given value to their country’s brotherly ties with Turkiye. He said the highly educated, talented, skilled, and hardworking workforce present in Pakistan would be of great value to prospective foreign investors.
Tessori told the audience that the exchange of trade and cultural delegations between the brotherly nations had gone a long way in bringing together Pakistan and Turkiye. He said the Pakistani nation had the resolve to further strengthen the Pakistan-Turkish friendship bond. The Turkish consul general expressed gratitude to the orphaned and special children, Sindh governor and CM for attending the reception.
