ISLAMABAD: Majid Bashir has replaced Tariq Murtaza as the president of Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) through show of hands during the General Council’s meeting.
In the light of Tariq Murtaza’s intention to retire from his longstanding service at the ITA due to personal commitments, a proposal has been advanced to nominate Majid Bashir for the post of president of the association.
The proposal was met with unanimous approval from the members present, who showed their support for Majid Bashir through a show of hands.
Bashir aims to work towards the development and enhancement of the game of tennis, ensuring its growth and prosperity within the region. The Islamabad Tennis Association expresses its earnest desire to foster harmonious and cooperative relations with the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and all of its associated units.
‘Recognizing the importance of collaboration and unity within the tennis community, the ITA is committed to working closely with the PTF and its affiliates to promote the growth and development of tennis in Islamabad and across Pakistan,’ an ITA handout says.
