MANSEHRA: Torghar chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday demanded the federal government to reduce the electricity and gas tariffs as people couldn’t pay exorbitant utility bills.

“The current inflation is at its highest in the history of the country and the government instead of retaining profit on banks’ deposits should reduce tariffs on electricity and natural gas,” Shahnawaz Khan, a PTI leader in Torghar, told reporters.

He said that rates of the essential goods were also soaring with every passing day because of the frequent rise in the prices of petroleum products, natural gas and electricity.“The government should announce an immediate tariff relief, and levies imposed by it on natural gas and electricity utility bills in recent months,” Khan said.
