Homage paid to martyrs of independence movement
LAHORE : IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that the Punjab Police paid homage to the great sacrifices of the leaders and martyrs of the independence movement.
In a special message on the occasion of Pakistan Day, he said that Pakistan Day reminded them of their commitment and eternal struggle to achieve Pakistan.
He said that they would defeat all hostile elements of their homeland with the power of faith, unity and discipline.
Inspector General appealed to the citizens to renew their vow to cleanse the motherland from anti-national and anti-social elements.
He said that fool-proof arrangements were ensured for the security of all the rallies and events across Punjab including Lahore on Pakistan Day.
Pakistan Day celebrations reverberate with patriotic fervor
The provincial capital, today, resonated with patriotic zeal and fervor as the nation came together to celebrate Pakistan Day, commemorating the historic Lahore Resolution of 1940.The day commenced with a resounding 21-gun salute, echoing the pride and resilience of the Pakistani people.
Special prayers were offered in mosques in Fajar prayers across the city, invoking blessings for the prosperity and solidarity of the nation.
Symbolizing the unity and strength of Pakistan, the national flag was hoisted atop major government buildings, serving as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made for the country’s independence.
In a tribute to the visionary poet and philosopher, Dr.Allama Muhammad Iqbal, change of guard ceremony was conducted at his mausoleum.
Air Vice Marshal Tariq Mahmood graced the occasion as the chief guest, witnessing Pakistan Air Force troops assume guard duty from Chenab Rangers.
Reflecting on the significance of the day, Air Vice Marshal Tariq Mahmood penned his thoughts in the guest book, emphasizing the enduring spirit of patriotism and national pride that binds the Pakistani people together.
As the celebrations continue throughout the day, Pakistanis across the country unite in solidarity, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of freedom, democracy, and progress envisioned by the founding fathers.
Minister stresses unity among all Pakistanis
On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Sohaib Ahmed Bherth, minister for Communication and Works, stressed the importance of unity and progress for nation’s development.
“Pakistan Day holds a special place in our hearts as it marks the day when the Lahore Resolution was passed in 1940, leading to the creation of Pakistan.
It reminds us of the sacrifices made by our ancestors for our freedom,” he said in a statement on Saturday. Pakistan Day is a time to come together as one nation and work towards our shared goals.
When we stand united, we can overcome any challenge,” said Minister Bherth. He also called on everyone to contribute to the progress of the country.
“Each one of us has a role to play in building a better Pakistan.Whether young or old, we can all make a difference by working together,” he added.
