LAHORE:The governing body of the Lahore Press Club has warmly welcomed the Punjab government’s announcement of a historic endowment fund worth one billion rupees for the welfare of journalists during the current fiscal year.
It said that the inclusion of journalists in the indemnity fund represents a significant gesture by the provincial government in acknowledging the challenges faced by the media fraternity. It stressed that, unlike mere promises of support, journalism and its associated media personnel have been prioritised in practical terms, as demonstrated by the allocation of funds. It underscored that CM Maryam Nawaz has given top priority to journalists and media personnel, acknowledging their contributions and addressing their concerns.
