Civil defence officer dies three days after being shot

A civil defence officer who was injured a few days ago in a firing incident passed away on Sunday. Meanwhile, seven persons, including two women, were wounded in separate incidents of firing in parts of the city.

Civil Defence officer Farhan was wounded in a firing incident three days ago in Orangi Town. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Sunday. Police suspect that the man was shot apparently over some personal enmity.

Separately, two persons, Abdur Rehman, 16, son of Asghar, and Babar, 45, son of Noor Khan Niazi, were injured in a firing incident in the Chakiwara area of Lyari. They were shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karachi.

In another firing incident near the Sher Shah Paracha Bridge, a 40-year-old man, Dilawar, son of Abdul Ghani, was injured. In the Tipu Sultan Road area, a stray bullet injured a 49-year-old man, Peer Baksh, son of Mulla Baksh.

Separately, a 22-year-old woman, Saba, daughter of Zawwar, and her mother Razia were wounded in a firing incident that took place near the Dua Hotel on the Super Highway. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A 28-year-old man, Allah Dad, son of Usman Ahmed, was wounded in a firing incident on the Super Highway. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
