Destined to fail?

The new coalition government faces formidable challenges on both the economic and political fronts and it is clear to me that there will likely not be any change for the better. A coalition government is not conducive to the quick, decisive policymaking the country’s challenges demand.
A comprehensive, time-bound strategy for economic reforms is also needed but it is unclear if the current government will be able to push them through. Many fear that this latest coalition will be weak and unstable. At this moment, there seems to be no end to political instability and Pakistanis are increasingly frustrated with the political class.
