Minister pledges efforts to revamp health sector
Minister pledged that he will make all-out efforts to take the health sector to the height of success
LAHORE: Primary and Secondary Healthcare Minister Kh Imran Nazeer has sought a report on all vertical programmes’ performance and initiatives and said that all steps for improving performance of these programmes will be implemented in true letter and spirit.
The minister pledged that he will make all out efforts to take the health sector to the height of success. The minister directed for evolving an effective mechanism for revamping of all vertical programmes. Kh Imran Nazeer issued these directions while chairing a meeting to review the working of the vertical programmes.
The PD Punjab Aids Control Programme and PD EPI gave briefings to the minister about the initiatives and targets achieved during this year. The minister said that he will visit soon all hospitals set up in prisons across the province.
Elimination of polio is my dream, he added. He maintained that the EPI centres will be established in all slum areas across the province to wipe out poliovirus. Additional secretaries, DG health services, drug control, chief drug controller were present in the briefing. Earlier, the minister visiting FM Seht Zindagi Studio, said that he is pleased to see the studio equipped with modern gadgets and technology which will help in disseminating information on hygiene conditions and promote awareness in the public.
The message being aired through FM should be crispy and appealing, he added. He said that the CM will also be invited to see this studio. However, renowned artists and heroes will be invited to visit the FM Studio and record their message on health for the public.
Meanwhile, Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique held various meetings in his office to solve public problems and said better health facilities is the first priority of the Punjab government.
He met with the delegation of the Young Doctors Association. Dr Atif Majeed, Dr Shoaib Niazi, Dr Jafar, Dr Kashif, Dr Hamza, Dr Salman Haseeb and others were present in the YDA delegation. Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department Khawaja Salman Rafique said on this occasion, 'We will take all the stakeholders together for the improvement of the health sector. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given the task of ensuring the provision of better health facilities to the people. Improving the conditions of government hospitals of Punjab is the first priority. In order to improve the conditions of government hospitals, I will soon visit and submit a detailed report to the chief minister.'
The people have trusted us and we will never break their trust. The PML-N government does not believe in empty slogans but in public service. We will address issues of doctors on priority. We thank Allah Almighty for giving us a rare opportunity to serve humanity again. May Allah help us to serve Pakistan in a true sense, the minister said.
