A special entrance gate has been built at the Sindh Governor House for the entry and exit of a large number of students attending free information technology courses on a daily basis on the premises of the Governor House in a large marquee set up there.
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Monday inaugurated the IT gate built at the Governor House. He also launched on the occasion a three-kilometre-long road connecting the IT gate with the marquee.
Talking to media persons, the Governor said that his dream of transforming the students in the province into IT experts had been coming true. He said the newly built free-of-charge learning facility had virtually transformed the Governor House into an IT university. He mentioned that the Governor House had been offering free-of-charge IT courses to deserving students.
To a question, Tessori said he was hopeful that the project of a free IT learning programme at the Governor House would continue in the future as well. He said the ownership of the IT marquee at the Governor House lay with the people as they would take care of the learning facility there in the future.
The governor expressed gratitude to all the sponsors who had lent support to him to launch the IT training programme at the Governor House.
He also greeted Asif Ali Zardari on becoming the President of Pakistan. He mentioned that the newly elected president had promised that he would join hands with other quarters to work jointly for the development and progress of Karachi.
Tessori said he had worked hard in his tenure to serve the underprivileged communities in the province in the best possible manner. Meanwhile, a senior retired bureaucrat, Muhammad Sohail Rajput, on Monday took the oath of office as the new provincial ombudsman in Sindh. The governor administered the oath.
