JARANWALA: Following the conclusion of the investigation into a blasphemy case associated with the Jaranwala incident, the city police have filed a challan in the Anti-Terrorism Court against the accused.
The case was registered under Sections 295 A, B, and C of the PPC and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, based on allegations of desecrating the pages of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet. This reprehensible act incited immediate outrage among the Muslim community, leading to the destruction of churches and other properties.
Sources say that the accused, Pervaiz Masih, alias Qaudoo, is a repeat offender involved in multiple narcotics cases, including Case No. 1156/21, Case No. 906/20, Case No. 688/19, Case No. 18/382, and Case No. 1083/16 under Section 9-C of the Narcotics Act registered at Police Station City, Jaranwala.
Further investigation reveals that during the accused’s incarceration in 2020 for drug trafficking, his wife allegedly engaged in an extramarital affair with his neighbour, deeply distressing Pervez Masih.
Upon his release from prison, Pervez Masih, alias Qaudoo, attempted to kill his neighbour, Umair Saleem Masih. Unable to carry out the murder, Pervez Masih, alias Qaudoo, along with his nephews Dawood Masih and Shahid Aftab, alias Bobby Masih, planned a scheme by fabricating false evidence and circulating it, implicating his wife’s alleged lover in a blasphemy case.
