PML-Q leader criticises rigging allegations
The Sindh chapter spokesperson for the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q), Muhammad Sadiq Sheikh, has criticised the allegations of rigging in the February 8 general elections that are being levelled without providing evidence.
Speaking to the media in Karachi on Sunday, he said it was not a good practice to level allegations of rigging without evidence.
He said that holding sit-ins and resorting to aggressive politics was not the appropriate way to protest. He added that every party and individual had the right to protest, and the courts were doing their job to provide justice to aggrieved persons.
Those who had any objections regarding the elections could approach the courts and exercise their right within the framework granted in the Constitution, Sheikh remarked. He said the politics of instability in the country posed a threat to democracy. He added that all democratic parties should play their role for the prosperity of the country.
The PML-Q leader said that winning and losing was part of the elections process, and the beauty of democracy. He added that keeping the democratic process on track should be the top priority of every democratic party.
