PESHAWAR: A 4th grader clinched a gold medal at the recent International Kangaroo Linguistic Competition (IKLC), held with over 8,000 contestants from across Pakistan.

Zunaira Khan, a 4th-grade student at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) School and College, Khyber Campus, was awarded the gold medal and a commendation certificate for her exceptional performance in the English linguistic contest organised under the auspices of IKLC.

A total of 14 students from her school and 238 students from the Peshawar district participated in the contest, in addition to 8,928 more students from all over Pakistan. The competition, organised annually, aims to enhance the linguistic and creative faculties of young students.

Zunaira shared the first position with 17 other students from the Peshawar district and 945 students nationwide. She credited her teachers and supportive parents for motivating her to achieve the gold medal. “My hobbies include reading books and expanding my general knowledge, while my favorite sport is badminton. I aspire to become a judge in the future,” she said.
