They added that the SSPs will issue police certificates to 419 municipal officers and 117 assistant account officers, and medical certificates to civil surgeons and medical superintendents.

The letter issued by Sindh Local Government Board reads, “It is submitted that on the recommendation of the Sindh Public Service Commission, the offer letters have been issued in respect of 419 (Municipal Officer) conveyed vide SPSC’s letter and 117 (Assistant Accounts Officer) conveyed vide SPSC’s letter.

“According to Rule 10 of the Constitution and Regulation of the Sindh Council Unified Grade Service Rules, 2020, no person shall be appointed, unless he produces Police Verification Certificate and no person convicted by any Court of law shall be appointed to service. Earlier, the Sindh local government had also requested the removal of encroachments from all roads and had also requested the local police to assist.

The letter reads, “Your good-self is well aware that as provided under Schedule-II, Part-I (13) of Sindh Local Government Act-2013, the work of removal of encroachment, including recovery from pertaining heads from all over Karachi City within KMC limits (internal and external road, except land owned by the Cantonment Boards) is the mandate of Anti- Encroachment Department, KMC.
