All efforts made for fair and inclusive elections, says minister
PESHAWAR: Caretaker Information and Public Relations Minister Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel said on Wednesday the KP government had made all efforts to provide a level playing field to all candidates participating in the general elections.
According to a handout, he highlighted the efforts undertaken by the caretaker government, Kakakhel and said that necessary resources had been employed to ensure administrative efficiency and security throughout the electoral process.
The minister said the federal interior minister and interior secretary conducted a thorough review meeting, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements made for the elections. Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan personally inspected the preparations on the ground.
The minister urged citizens to fulfill their national duty by casting votes in a transparent and impartial environment. He particularly urged the youth to play an active role in shaping the future of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through responsible voting.
Regarding security measures, Kakakhel assured that robust arrangements had been made, including the formation of an emergency response force and heightened vigilance by health and rescue departments.
The minister underscored the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order, noting a swift action would be taken against any attempts to disrupt the electoral process.
About the internet services on election day, Kakakhel said that no decision had been made yet, indicating that consultations with the federal government would guide any further actions.
Kakakhel said in a demonstration of transparency and accountability, international experts had been invited to observe the electoral process, affirming the government’s resolve to conduct a peaceful, transparent, and impartial election.
“As the nation prepares for this pivotal moment, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker government remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold democratic principles and ensure a fair and inclusive electoral process for all,” he added.
