Legal work remained suspended at the City Courts on Tuesday as members of the legal fraternity stayed away from courts to mourn the death of their senior colleague and former judge of the Sindh High Court, Rasheed A Razvi, who passed away last week.
Hundreds of cases fixed for hearing for the day were put off as the under-trial prisoners were not produced in courts and lawyers abstained from the routine legal proceedings and appeared only in urgent cases.
The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) had called for suspension of legal proceedings at the City Courts following a call given by the Sindh High Court Bar Association as a mark of respect for the passing of the former SHC judge.
