Minor killed after being hit by speeding rickshaw

LAHORE : A four-year-old child was killed after being hit by a speeding rickshaw in Kot Lakhpat on Saturday.

The victim Jaris was playing in the street when a speeding rickshaw hit the victim. He received serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where he died. His body has been moved to morgue for autopsy. Police said that they were searching for the suspected rickshaw driver.

NH&MP officials return diamond ring to US national National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) recovered diamond ring of an American national and handed it over to her.

An American national Dr Sumera was traveling from Lahore to DG Khan on M-3, Jaranwala Service Area. Two diamond rings were found in the service area washroom. Patrolling officers Zahid Iqbal, Sultan Khan and Iqbal Khan searched out the rings and returned to the owner. DIG Syed Farhad Ali appreciated the patrolling officers.

Two stolen vehicles recovered

Traffic wardens have recovered two stolen vehicles during duties in different parts of provincial capital.

The first incident was reported at Naqsha Stop, Wahdat Colony where a traffic warden signaled to stop a motorcyclist. When the officer asked him to provide the documents, the suspect abandoned the bike and fled from the scene.

The other case was reported in Shera Kot where a suspect when asked for documents fled from the scene by leaving the bike at the spot. When police checked the vehicles record, it turned out to be stolen vehicles. These have been handed over to concerned local police stations for further action.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ammara Athar commended the wardens and announced prizes for them.

397 officers complete training course

The passing out parade of the first batch of probationer training officers was held at Police Training College Chung Lahore in which IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar participated as the chief guest.

As many as 71 lady officers are included in 397 officers who completed the first probationer training course. Those who completed the training course included 14 MPhil, one CA, five MS, 86 Masters and 280 BA, BS degree holder officers.

IG Punjab inspected the passing out parade, passing out police officers marched past, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar distributed prizes to the officers who performed best in various categories during the training. IG Punjab issued important instructions to the officers participating in the passing out parade. Commandant Chung College DIG Mehboob Aslam presented the vote of thanks and explained the details of the probationer course.

DIG Mehboob Aslam said that according to the modern requirements, police officers and recruits are being given the best training in the Police Training College Chung. IG Punjab also visited Police Officers Guest House at Chung College.
