Case of firing on Shangla ANP candidate registered

ALPURI: The police are yet to arrest the accused involved in the firing on the caravan of Awami National Party candidate for NA-11 Aurangzeb Khan in Mandoria Martong area in Shangla district on Tuesday.

Soon after the incident, the police had cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators but no arrest had been made so far.

A case had been registered at the Counter Terrorism Department police station under relevant sections of law against unknown accused.

Asghar Shah, a personnel of Frontier Constabulary who was providing security to the ANP candidate, had sustained serious bullet injuries when unidentified gunmen attacked the caravan of Aurangzeb Khan in Mandoria Martong area in Shangla district on Monday last. Aurangzeb Khan along with his party supporters was passing through Mandoria Martong area in Shangla during his election campaign when came under attack by unknown gunmen. Aurangzeb Khan remained unharmed.
