Five arrested in crackdown on human smugglers

LAHORE : FIA teams arrested five suspects involved in human trafficking from different districts of the province.

Two suspects were arrested from a trade centre. They would receive huge amount in the name of employment abroad from citizens without licence.

Seven passports and travel documents were recovered from the accused, including Mudassar Hayat and Gulzar Ali.

In another operation, accused Bilal was arrested from Okara. The accused received Rs245,000 by giving the citizen illegal job in Saudi Arabia and went into hiding after receiving the money. In another operation, accused Saeed was arrested from Shah Alam Market here and Rs1.5 million were recovered from him.

Registers and other records related to reference hundi were also recovered. A case was registered against the accused. Meanwhile, a proclaimed offender Abdul Wahid was arrested from Faisalabad. The accused collected Rs3 lakh under the guise of sending the victim to Korea. \A case was registered against the accused in the year 2021. He was wanted by FIA for the last three years.
