JI candidate seeks votes for development
JAMRUD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) candidate for NA-27, Shah Faisal Afridi, said on Monday that elections were crucial for the development of the country, but if they were rigged, it would harm the nation.
He said JI was committed to democracy, and urged voters to support the party for their own welfare.Faisal Afridi identified drinking water and electricity as major issues in the region, and criticised the elected representatives of the past for not effectively addressing these problems. He accused some politicians of entering politics solely for personal gains, while urging the public to reject such candidates.
Expressing concern over the misuse of public funds, Afridi stated that billions of rupees allocated annually for tribal areas had been wasted. He condemned the halt in trade at the Pak-Afghan border, which he said negatively impacted employment in the area.
