Three killed in ‘toy-bomb’ blast in Swat

MINGORA: Three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries in a blast inside a house in Madyan in Swat district, official said on Tuesday.District Police Officer (DPO) Salim Marwat said that the children had found a mortar shell somewhere and were playing with it inside their home when it went off. As a result, Jan Muhammad, his father Zor Muhammad and daughter, Shabina, were killed while Saddam Khan and Saira Bibi sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the police defused a bomb which was found in the fields near a state-run school in Tiligram. The source said that locals informed the security forces about the bomb placed near the Government High School in Tiligram. The security forces and officials of the bomb disposal unit reached the spot and defused the bomb.
