Rawalpindi: The Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar during his visit to Special Initiative Police Station Civil Lines has appreciated Safe City Project which will ensure effective surveillance in Rawalpindi. The IGP (Punjab) is actively working for the early completion of ongoing development projects in the police stations and police offices across the province including Rawalpindi.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Khurram Ali, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani and several other high ranking officers were present on the occasion.

The IGP has appreciated Punjab caretaker government over installations of 350 CCTV cameras in Rawalpindi. The Punjab caretaker government has provided Rs10 billion for this project. The IGP has directed all police stations to provide best facilities of citizens. Irresponsibility will not bear at any cost, he warned. The IGP visited different police stations also to check the facilities.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that the upgrading of police stations and offices with provision of latest resources and best working environment will improve the public service delivery. IG Punjab said that under the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, all the police stations and police offices of the province are being upgraded with modern facilities so all supervisory officers should complete all pending works under personal supervision in time.
