ICAO’s security audit team to arrive in city on Feb 18
Mandate of aviation security falls with ASF which has been successfully performing duty of protecting property and lives of passengers
A four-member security audit team of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will arrive in Karachi on February 18, a spokesperson for the Airports Security Force (ASF) said on Tuesday.
In Pakistan, the mandate of aviation security falls with the ASF, which has been successfully performing the duty of protecting the property and lives of passengers at airports for the past five decades.
In this context, the ASF Headquarters has formed teams that will conduct pre-audits of aviation security at airports across the country. The ASF teams have started the pre-audit of the aviation security at Jinnah International Airport from January 15. The purpose of this exercise is to check whether the security standards at airports are in accordance with the international standards.
