LAHORE : Partly cloudy and cold weather was observed in the City here on Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the City slightly came down and on Wednesday it was 192, which was still considered unhealthy. On the other hand, Met office warned that dense fog was likely to continue over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Sindh and Islamabad during this week and advised the citizens to be cautious.
Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country while a westerly system was likely to enter Balochistan and may affect parts of Balochistan till tomorrow (Friday).
They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very cold in northern parts.
Dense fog/smog was likely to persist in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and cloudy weather with rain (snow over hills) was expected in most parts of Balochistan.
Wednesday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh where mercury dropped to -12°C, while in Lahore, it was 6.1°C and maximum was 10°C.
