He emphasized that the Urdu department remains an integral part of Karachi University’s commitment to providing an inclusive and enriching educational experience for all students.

Addressing concerns raised on social media, Dr Iraqi stated, “In fact, this year we have admitted 63 students at the BS level who will go on to MS level too. The list of these students has also been released.” He went on to highlight the university’s dedication to the preservation and promotion of Urdu literature and language, acknowledging the vital role the Urdu department plays in achieving this goal.

The VC expressed dismay at false reports about a lack of candidates for admissions to the Urdu department, which supposedly led to rumours about its imminent closure.

Dismissing these claims, he proudly stated, “The university is proud of its diverse and vibrant student community, and we are delighted to see continued interest in the Department of Urdu.”
