Elections are just around the corner and the political parties have started to embark upon their respective charm offensives to woo the voters. Once again, the voters will be made to walk through the Potemkin villages constructed by each party. These political parties have created a nation reeling from social, political, economic and religious schisms.
This is not the country envisioned by Jinnah. The voters have tried all the parties but have not been able to find a leader who could solve the rot eating away at our country. One can only hope that our next leader will turn out to be the saviour we have all been longing for and pull Pakistan out of its current malaise.
