LAHORE: A two-member bench consisting of Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh and Justice Faisal Zaman Khan of the Lahore High Court will hear an appeal for the removal of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar today.
In the constitutional petition, senior lawyer Muqsit Salim took the position that the 90-day period of the caretaker prime minister has been completed on November 15 and either the caretaker prime minister should be removed or the court should extend the office, as has happened in Nepal and Bangladesh. He said the PM should be stopped from taking decisions on policy matters and the Election Commission be ordered to take action to form a new legal setup.
