In a bid to address the hazardous smog that has plagued Lahore residents for months, Pakistan has taken a ground-breaking step to combat its severe smog problem by implementing our first-ever artificial rain operation in the city. This innovative strategy utilizes cloud-seeding technology to trigger precipitation, aiming to clear the hazardous smog and improve air quality.
Although the full impact of the artificial rain remains to be assessed, a comprehensive plan is needed to address the root causes of Lahore’s air pollution, stemming from vehicular emissions, industrial activities, and agricultural-residue burning.
