Failed reforms

This letter refers to the editorial ‘Cricket in chaos’ (December 5, 2023). The way Pakistan’s many organizations are run creates more questions than answers and that also includes the government-run organizations. We have been trying to make a lot of organizations and institutions apolitical for a long time and one would agree that there have been some serious efforts undertaken to get to that objective.
Somehow all these efforts have either partially or completely failed and we are back to square one. The caretaker government had a very good chance to make things right for the PCB as they are less accountable to the public and thus under less pressure. Sadly, they missed this chance.
