PESHAWAR: Governor Ghulam Ali has said that timely elections are a must to improve the economic situation of the country. Talking to reporters at a function in Mardan, the governor said the Election Commission of Pakistan has told the Supreme Court that polls will be held on February 8.
“Many politicians and candidates are discussing the law and order situation in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Waziristan and many areas in their private meetings and they feel they can’t campaign if the situation remained the same,” the governor responded to a question regarding the security.
He added the authorities should sit with the political leadership if they have any concerns about the law and order situation during the polls.
