Crackdown launched against Chingchi rickshaws
LAHORE : The Transport Department, on the instructions of the Provincial Transport Minister Ibrahim Hassan Murad, has launched the crackdown against Chingchi rickshaws on Saturday.
The Punjab government has taken a principled decision to stop Chingchi rickshaw. The provincial transport minister clarified that Chingchi rickshaws were given a 30-day warning and after that a crackdown was launched against illegal motorcycle and loader rickshaw makers.
In the second phase, Chingchi rickshaws will be banned in small towns and rural areas. The provincial transport minister has clarified that in future manufacturing of Chingchi rickshaws will be banned while the registration of Chingchi rickshaws as well as manufacturing companies will be regularised.
